There were also people from the media, newspaper and T.V cameras to film what was happening.

Firstly, Brett Kirk talked to us about how he got in the team, where he grew up and much more. Then Ted told us about himself and how South Coogee and the Swans can be friends. Lewis was the last to speak to us. He told us about a family fun day happening soon.

Afterwards, Mr Fielding and our Prime Minister, Lauren were given a signed Sydney Swans shirt. We thought this was very cool!

We enjoyed the Swans visit because it was nice to meet the players and listen to the information about Aus Kick and the family fun day. Thanks Swans for visiting South Coogee Public School!

Students are supervised on the playground from 8.30am. After this time all students K - 2 are to play in the Infants Quad outside the kinder rooms. Students in Years 3 6 are to play in the Undercover Playground. No students should be using the equipment or playing in any other area. To help the teachers who are on duty in the morning and to ensure the safety of all, we ask parents not to take any students to other areas of the school (such as the equipment on the Top Playground) to play.

At the end of the day all parents and students should have left the school grounds by 3.10pm. A bell is rung at this time as a reminder. Gates on <street w:st="on">
Tucabia St
</street> are locked after 3.10pm and, again, to maintain the safety of all students, we ask that parents vacate the school grounds and not remain behind to allow students to play on site. Thankyou for your support and understanding of this very important student safety issue.

What a fantastic day! Everyone competed at their own level gaining vital points for their respective houses. Thank you to all the children for such a great effort, not just in the pool but also in the stands. A few more thankyous are needed - as usual we can't run such a successful Carnival without the support of our Parent body. There were those of you who came along to support your children and others who also performed jobs. Everyone worked tirelessly throughout the day and well after the carnival. Thanks also to Maroubra Swimming Club who supplied all the equipment.

There will be an assembly next Friday 12th February, where place getters will be presented with their ribbons and the Zone Team will be announced. A bronze medallist from the State Carnival, Brooke managed to jump extremely well in very windy conditions to come an incredible 5th place with a new personal best jump of 1.45m. Congratulations Brooke, you really are a champion! and the 5th best under 11's high jumper in AUSTRALIA!!!
